500 kg/h LHS Biomass Steam Generator for Industrial Laundry in Malaysia
JINHONG supplied one complete LHS0.5-0.7-M biomass pellet steam system for two customer-owned tumble dryers. Rated for 500 kg/h of saturated steam at 0.7 MPa, the compact vertical package is now in use.
Project Overview
A compact biomass steam source for two laundry dryers
The Malaysia customer operates an industrial laundry where two tumble dryers use steam to heat the drying air. Both machines can require steam at the same time, so the project had to address the shared load, pressure control and condensate within a restricted equipment area.
In 2026, JINHONG supplied a complete LHS biomass steam-generator package. JINHONG engineers remotely guided installation, commissioning and operator training. The system has been put into use for the customer’s drying process.
Customer Challenge
Simultaneous dryer demand in a limited equipment area
The customer needed a system that could serve two tumble dryers while addressing several connected operating problems rather than treating the steam generator as an isolated machine.
Steam and operating concerns
Both dryers can require steam at the same time. Pressure instability, condensate in the dryer piping and repetitive manual fuel loading were part of the customer’s pre-purchase problem.
Fuel, space and flue gas
The customer also wanted to manage fuel cost with biomass pellets, fit the heat-source equipment into the available area and organize flue-gas discharge away from the laundry workspace.
JINHONG Solution
One LHS package with fuel, water and flue-gas auxiliaries
JINHONG configured one LHS0.5-0.7-M vertical biomass pellet steam generator, rated at 500 kg/h and 0.7 MPa, as the shared steam source for the customer’s two dryers.
The complete supply included the steam generator, pellet hopper and feeder, feedwater pump, control system, induced-draft fan, flue-gas separation equipment, chimney and steam piping. The vertical layout reduced the steam-source footprint. The hopper and feeder reduced the need for continuous manual loading, while the fan, separation equipment and chimney established a defined flue-gas route. The supplied steam piping connected the heat-source system with the laundry drying process.

These photographs were provided for public use with this actual Malaysia project. The tumble dryers are customer-owned process equipment and are not presented as JINHONG products.
Project Status
Installed and in use in 2026
The LHS biomass pellet steam-generator package has been installed and commissioned and is now in use for the customer’s laundry drying process. No quantified fuel-saving, efficiency, emissions or long-duration operating claims are made because those measurements were not supplied.
Project FAQ
Steam-generator selection for laundry drying
Can a 500 kg/h steam generator operate two tumble dryers?
It can be suitable when the combined and simultaneous steam demand falls within the generator’s usable output at the required pressure. Dryer data, operating sequence, piping losses and condensate drainage must be checked for each project. Review the capacity calculation guide and the two-dryer steam-demand sizing guide before comparing models.
What information is needed to size a laundry steam generator?
Provide the dryer quantity, steam consumption per machine, simultaneous operating pattern, inlet pressure, daily hours, available fuel, feedwater condition, flue-gas requirements and installation limits.
Planning steam for industrial laundry drying?
Share the dryer quantity, steam demand per machine, required inlet pressure, simultaneous operating pattern, daily hours, available fuel, feedwater condition and installation-space limits. JINHONG can review the real process before confirming a steam-generator configuration.
